After Ivy tied up the Joker in her vines, Harleen asked her why she had saved her and Ivy admitted that no one had ever given her a gift before and reached out her hand to help her up. When the Joker made his escape with Harleen as his captive, Poison Ivy followed them and saved her when the guards began shooting at them by blocking their bullets with her plants. Harleen thanked her with a flower, which Ivy greatly appreciated in private. Poison Ivy was acidic and hateful to Harleen but helped her accidentally. Harleen Quinzel, the new psychologist in the asylum, saw her being burnt by the staff after attempting to escape and showed concern for her but Ivy promptly told her to "fuck off." After learning they were in the same therapy group, Harleen came to Ivy for help, figuring out the Joker in order to get him to reveal the location of a bomb. Ivy eventually ended up in the Arkham Asylum for her crimes, frequently fighting with the guards whenever live plants were accidentally presented to her (such as when the cafeteria accidentally bought live lettuce). At some point, she and Catwoman also teamed up on a mission in the Amazon Rain forest to take down loggers, which ended with Catwoman abandoning Ivy to steal a blood diamond, leaving Ivy to pay for all of her hotel bills. It eventually ended and Ivy went on to feel really pathetic about the whole thing and kept it to herself. However, Ivy stuck around, hoping she would change her mind, resulting in Catwoman having her wrapped around her little finger. They would hook up but Ivy wanted more from the relationship despite Catwoman not feeling the same way. Īt some point prior to befriending Harley, Ivy met Catwoman. She was frequently propositioned to join the Legion of Doom for her great powers, but she rejected their invitations 148 times. She planned to take it to a larger scale and terraform the entire Earth but after putting much time and effort into it, she had only managed to grow one acre and eventually gave up on it entirely, believing she would never be able to succeed in reclaiming Earth from humans. At some point she created Edin, named after the Garden of Eden but with an "I" for Ivy, a place where ancient plants could bloom without human interference. Later in life Pamela went on to gain her doctorate in biochemistry at Sarah Lawrence College, briefly dating a man named Dan there, and shortly after assumed the identity of Poison Ivy, a self-styled "eco-terrorist" fighting for the environment using her power to control plant life. This abuse was what caused her to give up on humanity. Unfortunately, one day she accidentally stumped upon her father cheating on his wife which he punished her for by beating her. She got her first plant, a ficus she named Mr. This was exacerbated by her own parents mocking her over it and emotionally and physically abusing her. Even as a child, she was a meta-human with green skin, which made her stand out and hampered her ability to make friends. Pamela Isley was born to incredibly wealthy parents but was not born as a usual human. In the The Eat, Bang, Kill Tour comic, her primary outfit is a V-neck teal shirt, black ripped shorts, and red sneakers that she got from a store in Gotham Mall.īiography Background Early life This third outfit likely draws from more conventional designs of Poison Ivy, including that of Batman: The Animated Series.
